Cooking Steps
- Ingredients Required
- Heat half of the oil in a pan and stir-fry the onions for a few minutes until light golden. Add Shan Daal Masala Mix and garlic, and cook briefly until fragrant.
- Add the lentils, tomato, soya leaves, green chilies, and 6 cups of water. Boil on low heat for about 30 minutes, or until the daal is tender and smooth.
- In a separate pan, heat the remaining ghee or oil. Add curry leaves and stir-fry for a few seconds then pour this over the cooked lentil curry. Cover and simmer on low heat for another 15–20 minutes.
Tips: Serve hot with naan, roti, or rice, and sliced onions on the side.
